About
The formation of The District of Columbia Final Cut Pro User Group deviates only slightly from that timeless 3-Act drama of “boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl.” (And no, it’s not: “boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy pursues hobby in non-linear editing to compensate for lack of girl.” We do just fine, thank you.)
The story starts when T.L. “met” his passion for filmmaking and editing, noted the absence of an FCP user group presence in the DC metro area, and formed the DCFCPUG in the summer of 2007. After a successful launch and meeting, the group laid passive for several months (read: T.L. loses girl). Then, in March, 2008, just when things looked their bleakest, T.L. was approached – independently - by Rich and Rod, who brought new interest and energy to the project.
Together, T.L., Rich and Rod formed a group devoted to the “girl” for whom they had been looking all these years – her sleek design, her intuitive buttons, her comprehensive integration.
Ok, this is getting weird.
While we have yet to string out the sequence that will constitute the sequel, rest-assured that – with member help and contributions - DCFCPUG.org will continue to grow and become a resource to area artists and editors.
