Final Cut Pro X – Current Release v10.0.3

This month, we will focus on the latest release of Apple’s Final Cut Pro X. Cameron King, one of our own local creative editors will give us a working demo of how multi-cam features in the latest release of FCP X works!

Working with Focal Press book publishers and featured author, we are also showcasing the works of the famous NYC Director and digital video editor, Mitch Jacobsen with 30 years experience in broadcast television, live streaming and entertainment production.

Peter Nicoll:

Peter Nicoll owns SuperLuminal Films, which he runs on the same principle he has since 1999, It’s simple, you have to tell the story.

Peter’s diverse set of tools and experiences is a unique blend of technology and craft. While extremely adept at grasping delicate ideas and making them accessible to audiences, his love of innovation and technology help create a well-balanced perspective matched with interesting visuals, kinetic editing, and thoughtful messages.

An experienced cinematographer and editor, Peter constantly researches technical innovations to combine with his distinctive capacity for storytelling to create the next project.

Not only has Peter taught editing at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, he has also on-lined the feature length 1080i documentary “Confessions of a Superhero” for distribution, worked on several museum installations, and cut countless stories for hundreds of clients. Recently, he has expanded his experience to include development of video for super-widescreen format projections, adding another facet to his technical knowledge.

Peter is also an accomplished cinematographer who has been shooting for 15 years. His recent clients include Fremantle Media, Showtime Sports, PBS, Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions, commercials and corporate clients all over the United States.

Peter has also directed branded-content films for CSC, Lockheed Martin, the International Monetary Fund, Ocean Spray, Monster.com, Cervelo, and others.
