    Tip of the Day!

    Final Cut Pro – Mute and Solo Audio Buttons

    Use the mute and solo buttons to make tracks audible or inaudible.

    Mute Solo Buttons

    While turning on, or off, the green visibility lights on the left of the timeline can make an audio track inaudible, there’s a better way.

    The problem with using the visibility lights is that whenever you change them, all render files associated with that track are deleted.

    However, if you click the small speaker button in the low-left corner of the timeline, two new button sets are displayed:

    * Mute buttons
    * Solo buttons

    The Mute buttons on the left make a track inaudible.

    The Solo buttons on the right, make every track EXCEPT the one soloed inaudible.

    You can mute or solo as many different tracks as you need, without ever deleting render files.
