    Tip of the Day!

Final Cut Pro – Three Steps to Better Text

Here’s a fast, three-step process to text handling in Final Cut.

    Superimpose Text

Here’s the fastest way to create and edit a full-screen text clip to the Timeline in Final Cut Pro. I call it the Three Step Text Process.

    1. Type Control+X. (This GENERATES the clip.)

    2. Drag the clip from the Viewer to Canvas > Superimpose. (This SUPERIMPOSES the clip to the timeline, matching the duration of the text clip to the clip your playhead is in and putting it one track higher.)

    3) DOUBLE-CLICK the text clip in the Timeline to load it into the Viewer so you can make changes.

    Generate – Superimpose – Double-click.

    Done.
