    Kerner Studios, home to ILM for over three decades, has opened is stages to external productions in corporate video, commercial production, television and movie production — complete with Kernercam 3D capture systems.

    On May 4th, Kerner Studios will host one of is legendary Pancake Breakfasts where you can tour the stages and studios and be one of the first to see a live public demonstration of the Kernercam KC7000 stereoscopic camera rig.

    Tip of the Day!

    Final Cut Pro – Multitrack Rippling


    Rippling multiple tracks is easy – provided you know this technique.

    Multitrack Ripple

    This is a good technique when you need to ripple the In or Out of a talking head, while keeping the B-roll in sync. (A Ripple adjusts either the In, or Out, of one clip.)

    In this example, we want to adjust the Out of the clip on V1, but not have the clip on V2 go out of sync with the clip below it.

    Here’s how:

    1. Turn Snapping off by pressing N.

    2. Select the Ripple tool by pressing RR.

    3. Using the Ripple tool, click the Out of the video clip on V1.

    4. Hold the Command key and click the In of the clip on V2 to select it.

    5. Finally, drag the Ripple tool left or right to trim your edit. This adjusts the audio and video Ins and Outs of all selected clips at once so that everything stays in sync; as indicated by the clip markers.
