Final Cut Pro – The Fastest Way to Duplicate a Clip
Here’s a quick mouse shortcut that quickly duplicates a clip in the Timeline.

Need to make a fast copy of a clip, but don’t want it to shift position?
Press Shift+Option and drag the clip up or down.
Option makes a duplicate of the clip.
Shift constrains the clip so it only moves up or down.
This only works with an audio or video clip, not with a linked audio and video clip.
To select just the audio or video side of a linked clip, press the Option key.
