Final Cut Pro – Modifying Audio Levels
Here are two quick ways to modify the audio levels of multiple clips.
Looking for a way to change the audio levels of more than one clip at once?
Here are two ways. The first uses a menu:
- Select the audio clips who’s level you want to adjust.
- Choose Modify > Level
- Select Relative if you want to adjust the audio based upon the current audio levels of a clip. (I tend to use the Relative setting.)
- Select Absolute if you want to set the level of all clips to the same setting, regardless of where the audio is set now.
- Enter the amount you want to change the audio (negative numbers make sounds quieter, positive numbers make it louder).
- Press OK.
Or, using keyboard shortcuts:
- To raise audio by 1 dB is Control+= (equals).
- To lower audio by 1 dB is Control+- (minus).
