If any of our DCFCPUG members are heading to NAB this spring, send us a report with photos and we will publish….

Unfortunately, I’ll be in New Mexico for another activity so I will have to miss NAB this year.

  • Understanding digital video metadata workflow – Adobe CS4

Adobe really illustrates the power of searchable metadata to include the transcribing of video audio that is searchable… (Speech search) Learn more about XMP (eXtensible Metadata platform) within Adobe Bridge and CS4 to more efficiently track/search your assets.

Watch and learn… pretty slick, frame accurate dialogue!  A real timesaver! Now video can be searchable by the big search engines…

The Best Job in the World for Six Months!

I just had to post this one… since I’m a fan of Sydney, Australia and Queensland.

Get this; the Australian state is going to pay some lucky person 150K AUS (105 USA $) to include free airfare from your home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef.  What’s the catch?

The “island caretaker” will be expected to stroll the white sands, soak up the sun, snorkel the reef, “maybe clean the pool” — and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates. The winner, will stay rent-free in a multi-million dollar three-bedroom beach home complete with plunge pool and golf buggy, must be an excellent communicator and be able to speak and write English.

Applications are open until February 22. Eleven shortlisted candidates will be flown to Hamilton Island in early May for the final selection process and the six month contract will commence on July 1.

Here is the article on Yahoo.  I would love to see one of our DCFCPUG members win!  Job-seekers for the six month gig apply here.  If my work related plans solidify, I will be back in Australia this fall (October) and I am determined to visit Whitsunday, Hamilton and Queensland (and the Great Barrier reef) with my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III. Check out the link and drool…..
